When I first purchased the 21 Day Fix, I was super optimistic about the product. I saw many reviews and before/after pictures and thought this product was something that could really help me. Now that I am on my last week and I have been waking up at 5 a.m. to complete 1 of 2 workouts for the days, I can feel the struggle setting in. I work a very demanding schedule. I wake up at 5:30 to be in work for 9 and not get home until 7. This is the original reason I wanted to do the 21 Day Fix. I didn't want to think about what I was putting in my body or when to work out, I thought it was going to be very easy. I have a couple days left of the Fix, and I've seen some results already but not those WOW results I thought I was going to see. I am considering going on a break and then doing it again but I am not sure as to when that will happen because I need to start incorporate running into my routine to prepare for the half in November. I do have to say Autumn is very inspiring!
I officially ended my first week of the 21 Day Fix! And I am so happy to only have 2 weeks left! It was a struggle in the beginning to adjust to the food and I feel like my body has been sore since the start but going into week 2 I am actually excited because I know what to expect. Now I can't lie to you and say I was miss angle over here. I didn't skip on workout session but I did have to modify some exercises due to the fact I thought I was going to drop dead. I also tried my hardest to stick to the meal plan but its harder especially on the weekends but I was better than I thought I would be. And of course I had to have the occasional candy or two (sweet tooth, can't help it). The one thing I have stuck to is drinking water and no diet drinks and no alcohol. Which is hard for me. But this is an adjustment and if I want to see results I plan to stick with it.
The second week might be even tricker for me because I have a fancy lunch with work on Friday, and since its catered I can't really get what I want aka it will be carb city. Sat I have a wedding and its the same thing. These two days I will need to portion control and make sure I am not eating to eat. When I am full I will need to stop and I bet a lot of people have this trouble with these kind of events. But if I don't stick to it, I will basically have to start over and starting over is worse because your giving up. I will not give up! The exercises are tough, don't let her fool you that its only 30 minutes. You can burn a LOT in 30 minutes and sweat a LOT. Which I have done. I have been pushing myself with these exercises because I want to see max results. When I can't do something to full power I modify but still give 110%. And boy have I've been feeling it. Usually when I am this sore I give my self a day or two or a week break but I keep pushing through the pain. I hope week two is a little better but I can't wait to start! So what exactly is the 21 Day Fix? Well I am sure you have heard of P90X or Insanity those are beach body programs and so is the 21 Day Fix. The concept is to get you beach body ready in a short amount of time. Now some people do not believe in this and I was also hesitant at first. I mean why spend extra money when I already go to the gym and eat sorta good. I also have a super long commute so it can be hard to stay active and eat healthy when all I want is candy on the train. Well I can say I have not been seeing the results I was expecting and I have been getting really discouraged. Before I go on, I am not over weight. I am actually pretty normal on the scale but I do have some problem areas that I am not comfortable with. I am a full supporter for people to get the body they want the right way. With all that said I decided to look into the 21 Day Fix because I needed extra help and I know a few people that have done and seen AMAZING results.
Again what exactly is the 21 Day Fix? We start with the diet plan. Its all laid out for you, so all you do is basically eat what you were eating before but with portion control and modified. It is SO easy anyone can do it. They give you containers that are color coded to help you when you plan your meals. They also give you a meal guide so you know what to eat and when to eat. The meal plan guide also break downs what should go in each containers. Also provide what not to eat on the diet. The best part is after it is done they do not want you to restrict the diet for forever, so they ease you back into adding more calories into your diet. The second component are the workout DVDs, which are broken up into 7 different exercise routines for only 30 minutes a day! How can you beat that, especially if you are as busy as I am, this plan makes it so simple you do not even have to think. And another great thing is that its all 100% guaranteed, meaning if you are not satisfied after 21 Days you can return it for a full refund! How great! Today is my first day on the fix. How did I prepare? I went grocery shopping with a list in my hand of everything I wanted to get and could eat on the Fix. I came home and prepared some of my meals for the week by cooking chicken and portioning it out so its easy grab in go. I also prepared veggies, oats and brown rice so it would be very easy for me to portion out and take what I can. I also made a spread sheet for the next week of what I was going to eat each day and when. This is an easy visual guide for myself so I can just grab and go and not even think because I already did all of the work. Now this morning all I needed to do was make my shake (which was yummy), and my lunch bag and head to work. When I get home tonight all I have to do is the DVD and prep dinner that might take me maybe 10 minutes. I already feel less stressed! Now I don't know how I am going to like it, I could hate it after day 3. But I will continue to blog and post pictures of my progress. Can't wait to bring everyone on my journey!! |
